Save to Swipe Vault: privacy policy

Last updated 19 October 2026

Save to Swipe Vault is a free Chrome extension from SHE-com. It saves ads from Meta's Ad Library, TikTok's Top Ads and Google's Ads Transparency Centre, and videos and posts from TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest, into the SHE-com Swipe Vault for the person who installed it. This page says what it reads, what it sends, what it stores and what it never does.

What it reads

The extension only runs on 6 kinds of page: the Ad Library pages on facebook.com (facebook.com/ads/library), the Creative Centre pages on ads.tiktok.com (ads.tiktok.com/business/creativecenter), the Ads Transparency Centre on adstransparency.google.com, pages on www.tiktok.com, pages on www.instagram.com, and pages on Pinterest (pinterest.com and its country addresses, such as pinterest.com.au and pinterest.co.uk). It does nothing on any other site and it does not see the rest of your browsing.

On Meta's Ad Library

It reads nothing until you press a button: Save to Swipe Vault on 1 ad, Save all on this page, or you switch Collect while I scroll on. Collecting switches itself off when you leave the tab, after 30 minutes, or when the daily limit is reached.

When you do press a button, it reads the public details of the ads that are already showing on the page: the Library ID, the advertiser's page name and page ID, the ad text, headline and button, the link caption and landing page address, the start date, whether it is active, the platforms, the format, the number of versions or cards, the picture and video addresses, and the country in the page address. This is information Meta already shows publicly in the Ad Library.

It does not scroll or click for you, it does not open tabs, and it does not send requests to Facebook. It reads the page as it is.

On TikTok's Top Ads (Creative Centre)

On TikTok's Top Ads list it shows a Save to Swipe Vault button on each ad and a Save the ads on this page button. On 1 ad's own page it also shows Save this ad. It reads nothing and sends nothing until you press a button.

When you press one, it reads the public details of the ads already showing on the page: each ad's ID and link, the brand name when the page shows it, the caption, the landing page address, the objective, the industry, the region and period in the page address, the likes, comments and shares, the click-through rate band (such as "Top 20%"), the budget level, the video length and the cover picture address. This is information TikTok already shows publicly in its Creative Centre. It never reads the video file address.

It does not scroll, click or open anything for you. You scroll or open the next page yourself and press the button again; ads SHE-com already has are skipped. It does not send requests to TikTok. It reads the page as it is, and never anything that only shows when you are signed in.

On Google's Ads Transparency Centre

On an advertiser's page, or a search for a website, it shows a Save to Swipe Vault button on each ad and a Save the ads on this page button. On 1 ad's own page it also shows Save this ad. It reads nothing and sends nothing until you press a button.

When you press one, it reads the public details of the ads already showing on the page: each ad's ID and the advertiser's ID from its link, the advertiser's name, whether it is a video, the preview picture address (a YouTube still or Google's own picture of the ad), and the region in the page address. On 1 ad's own page it also reads the format, the date it was last shown (and first shown, where Google shows it), the region it was shown in and the number of variations. This is information Google already shows publicly. Words that Google draws inside the ad's own frame are not read.

It does not scroll, click or open anything for you. You scroll to load more ads and press the button again; ads SHE-com already has are skipped. It does not send requests to Google. It reads the page as it is.

On both libraries it does not read who saw, liked or commented on an ad, anyone's account, your cookies, or your account.

On TikTok

On a TikTok video page it shows a Save to Swipe Vault button. On a TikTok profile page it shows a Save this brand's top videos button. It reads nothing and sends nothing until you press the button.

When you press it on a video page, it reads the public details of that 1 video: its link, the account name in the link, the caption, the likes, comments, shares and views the page has for it (from what is on screen, or the page's own data for that 1 video), and the cover picture address if the page has one. When you press it on a profile page, it reads the video tiles that are already loaded in the Videos grid: each tile's link and its view count, the account's display name, and the web address in the account's bio when it shows one (HQ uses it to tell a shop from a creator). HQ uses the view counts to work out what the account usually gets, so it can mark the videos that did far better.

It does not scroll, click or open anything for you. You scroll to load more videos and press the button again; videos SHE-com already has are skipped. It does not send requests to TikTok. It reads the page as it is.

It does not read how many followers an account has, who liked or commented on a video, anyone's name except the account's own, your TikTok cookies, your account, your messages, or anything that only shows when you are signed in (such as the Liked, Favorites and Private tabs).

On Instagram

On an Instagram post or reel page it shows a Save to Swipe Vault button. On an Instagram profile page it shows a Save this brand's top posts button. It reads nothing and sends nothing until you press the button.

When you press it on a post or reel page, it reads the public details of that 1 post: its link, the account name, the caption, the likes, comments and views the page shows for it, whether it is a reel, a single picture or a carousel, the date it was posted, and the picture address if the page has one. When you press it on a profile page, it reads the grid tiles that are already loaded: each tile's link, its type icon (reel, carousel or single picture), any counts the tile shows (Instagram often shows none), the tile's picture address, the account's display name, and the web address in the account's bio when it shows one (SHE-com uses it to tell a shop from a creator). SHE-com uses the counts it has to work out what the account usually gets, so it can mark the posts that did far better.

It does not scroll, click or open anything for you. You scroll to load more posts and press the button again; posts SHE-com already has are skipped. It does not send requests to Instagram. It reads the page as it is, and only what is showing on a public post or profile page.

It does not read how many followers an account has, who liked or commented on a post, anyone's name except the account's own, direct messages, your Instagram cookies, or your account.

On Pinterest

On a Pinterest pin page it shows a Save to Swipe Vault button. On a profile page or a board page it shows a Save these pins button. It reads nothing and sends nothing until you press the button.

When you press it on a pin page, it reads the public details of that 1 pin: its link, the title, the description, the picture address, the web address the pin goes to, the name of the account that posted it, the saves or reactions the page shows for it, and whether it is a video pin. When you press it on a profile or board page, it reads the pins that are already loaded: each pin's link, picture address, picture description, whether it is a video, and any saves or reactions the tile shows. The pins are filed under the name of the profile or board owner.

It does not scroll, click or open anything for you. You scroll to load more pins and press the button again; pins SHE-com already has are skipped. It does not send requests to Pinterest. It reads the page as it is.

It does not read how many followers an account has, who saved or reacted to a pin, comments, messages, your Pinterest cookies, or your account.

What it sends, and where

The ad, video, post and pin details above go to SHE-com's own server, hq.shecom.co, and nowhere else. They are sent with your pairing code, which links the saves to your SHE-com Swipe Vault. The extension also sends its version number and the fact that the save came from the extension, and it asks the server whether your pairing code is valid and how many ads you have saved.

The server keeps your pairing code only as a scrambled (hashed) value, not in plain form, and uses it to know whose Vault the ad belongs to. As with any web request, our server receives your connection's technical details (such as your IP address) when the extension contacts it.

For a post, pin or TikTok or Google ad that SHE-com shows in the Vault, our server downloads that 1 picture from Instagram's, Pinterest's, TikTok's or Google's own picture server (for Google: a YouTube still or Google's archived picture of the ad), using the picture address the extension read from the page, and keeps a small copy (480 pixels at most) so it keeps showing after the original address expires. Our server never opens instagram.com, pinterest.com, tiktok.com or Google's ad library pages.

What it stores on your computer

Using Chrome's extension storage, it keeps 2 things on your computer: your pairing code, and a count of how many ads, videos, posts and pins you have saved from this browser. Removing the extension removes them.

What it never does

Who can see what you save

Saved ads, videos, posts and pins go into the SHE-com Swipe Vault, where SHE-com members and the SHE-com team can look at them. They are public ads, videos, posts and pins, shown with the advertiser's or account's name and a link to the original. TikTok and Google ads are shown in the Vault's ads, with a TikTok or Google label. TikTok videos and Instagram posts that did far better than the account usually does are shown in the Vault's Organic tab, and so are the Pinterest pins you save; the rest stay in your own Saved list. Your name and email are not attached to anything that you save.

Permissions the extension asks for

Your choices

You can stop at any time by removing the extension from Chrome. If you would like a pairing code replaced, get a new one from the Swipe Vault in the SHE-com Hub (a new code replaces the old 1). If you would like the ads, videos, posts or pins you saved or your pairing record removed from SHE-com, email us and we will do it.

Changes to this page

If the extension changes what it reads, sends or stores, we will update this page and the date at the top before the new version is released.
